What pregnancy/prenatal services does Dr. Silberstein offer?
High-quality pregnancy and prenatal services help to ensure the health of the baby and mother. Dr. Taaly Silberstein provides comprehensive prenatal services to encourage a healthy pregnancy, including regular examinations, bloodwork, and ultrasounds. She performs tests throughout the 9-month period to identify any problems with the developing fetus, as well as to ensure that the mother doesn’t develop health complications, such as high blood pressure or gestational diabetes.
When should the first visit take place?
If you plan on becoming pregnant, Dr. Silberstein recommends a preconception visit to ensure a healthy child-bearing. However, if you do not schedule a preconception visit, you can request an appointment as soon as you have a positive home pregnancy test.
If I’m pregnant, how often should I see a doctor?
How often a pregnant woman sees her OB/GYN changes throughout her pregnancy. In the beginning, patients visit their doctor less frequently. As the pregnancy progresses, however, the mother needs to see the doctor more often. If you are over the age of 35 or if you have serious complications, such as gestational diabetes, Dr. Silberstein recommends that you visit her more frequently. She will give you an appropriate appointment schedule when she after she performs an initial exam.
What if a problem develops?
If you experience abnormal or unexpected symptoms at any time, you should contact our office as soon as possible. Depending on the nature of the issue, Dr. Silberstein recommends that you either treat the problem at home, schedule an appointment, schedule a specific test or go to the hospital. Women who experience serious symptoms should go to the emergency room as early as possible.
